St. Patrick’s Day craft ideas

St. Patrick’s Day is next week! Here’s some crafty inspiration to get you in the par-tay mood…

If you’re headed to a parade, whip up some shamrocks to wear as pins or hair clips. I found a crochet pattern (with video tutorial!) from Midwestern Moms, and a felt tutorial from Paper & Ink.

If you’re entertaining kids, how about a gold hunt? Warm Hot Chocolate did this by painting rocks metallic gold. This is also the simplest decoration idea! Just fill a clear bowl with these shiny beauties.

Hosting friends? Decorate your mantel or shelf with this “lucky” typography idea from Made by Marzipan. Even if you don’t feel like glueing pennies, you can achieve a similar look by just painting the letters or using copper leaf.

And if you want something festive to hang out your door or wall, how about weaving a green and gold tapestry? You could use this beautiful piece by fiber artist Sheila Hicks as inspiration.
