Russian nesting dolls are adorable. I have a collection of them … OK I have 3 … and I seriously love them. One was my Mom’s that I’ve had ever since I can remember, another is a cat set that I picked out as a kid, and the third is a beautifully detailed set I found at a flea market last year. I really like the variety of color and detail these dolls offer!
There are also some super cute Russian doll DIY ideas out there, and I just can’t stop pinning them, so I’m obviously sharing my favorites with you here…
You could sew some fabric & felt dolls with this free pattern from I Think Sew.
Or if you’ve got some serious crochet skills, stitch up these soft dolls from Petals to Picots.
If you’re looking for a fabric craft specifically for the kiddos, follow this tutorial at Kit’s Crafts for a nesting doll quiet book.
Stone Russian dolls are really versatile. This version from Mustard Seeds is done with images and Mod Podge, but you could use paint, paint markers, glitter glue, you just need to find rocks in graduated sizes!
Or go the minimal route, using metallic paint on blank wood nesting dolls (available on Amazon). You could use this image from handlespout.bigcartel.com as inspiration.
